Behind the Scenes: The Reels I've Been Creating for Myrddin's World

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been experimenting with creating Reels on Facebook and Instagram — short, atmospheric videos designed to pull readers into the world of my book one moment at a time. Each Reel isn’t just a clip; it’s a small window into a character’s emotional reality, or the world’s deeper mysteries. Here’s a look at what I’ve created so far.

The Wounded Boy on the Road — From Chapter One

Another Reel focuses on a boy who wakes injured on a lonely road, unable to remember who he is or how he got there.
The quote:

“He couldn’t remember, and the emptiness in his mind hurt as much as the ache in his head.”

The imagery is stark and vulnerable — a slow zoom on the road scene, the world tilting slightly as if sharing the boy’s disorientation.
This Reel introduces mystery, trauma, and the fragile beginning of a journey he didn’t choose.

Myrddin's Origin Reel - He Wasn't Always a Wizard

This Reel introduces Myrddin long before the legends. Using a slow zoom into a scroll background and clouds lit with divine light, the Reel highlights a surprising truth: Myrddin began as something far more grounded — an inventor and a prophet — before destiny reshaped him.
The tone is mythic and dramatic, with text unfolding over carefully paced imagery, hinting at a character whose future is larger than his past.

Mysty and the Whispering Wind - From Chapter Two

One of the most emotionally charged Reels shows Mysty holding her blue‑corded baby, fear and exhaustion written across her face.
The quote from Chapter Two sets the mood:

“At night, the wind seemed to whisper his name…”

…except the name it whispers isn’t the baby’s — it’s Simael, the child’s father.
The Reel uses gentle zooms and tighter framing to reveal her terror as she wakes in a cold sweat, clutching her infant as if her arms alone could keep the darkness away.
This Reel is about fear, prophecy, and the weight of a past that doesn’t stay buried.
